This is a 9 day, 8 nights Kenya safari and beach package that starts from Nairobi and ends with a beach holiday on the white sandy shores of Diani .Begin your journey amongst the towering herds of Elephants of Amboseli, set against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro .From here we proceed to the vast grasslands of Tsavo, home to the Red Elephants and the once famous Man Eaters of Tsavo.

Day 01 :

Nairobi

Upon arrival at JKIA, you will be met by our driver/guide who will transfer you to the Hotel or lodge for free rest.

In the afternoon, you spend the full day exploring Nairobi City & end your trip with Nairobi National Park and later at the Karen Blixen Museum. Before you are dropped off at the Hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 02 :

Nairobi-Amboseli National Park (4-5 Hours’ Drive)

Pick up from your city hotel, residence, or airport in the morning and drive to Amboseli National Park.

Game viewing after entry en route to your lodge or camp for check-in and lunch.

Afternoon game drive with a chance to see elephants, lions, cheetahs, gazelles, wildebeests, buffaloes, zebras, warthogs, different species of birds, and of course Mount Kilimanjaro.

Return to your lodge/ Luxury Camp for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 03 :

Amboseli National Park

Spend the whole day in Amboseli with morning and afternoon game drives.

Our game drives shall take us to the observation hill to have a better view of the park including the adjacent marshy swamps.

Wildlife is abundant in this park, together with pelicans and other bird species.

Your game viewing shall cover the open plains, acacia woodland, rocky thorn bush country, swamps, and marshland.

Lunch, dinner, and overnight in the same lodge/ luxury tented camp of choice.

Day 04 :

Amboseli –Tsavo West National Park (2-3 Hours’ Drive)

After breakfast, you will check out and enjoy a game viewing drive as you exit the park to head to Tsavo West National Park. Once inside Tsavo West, you will continue with game drives. You will traverse the vast park looking for Cats, Antelopes, Elephants and several species of birds. . The topography is scenic savanna woodlands.

Day 05 :

Tsavo West –Tsavo East National Park

From West your drive to East National Park famously known for hosting the largest population of Red African Elephants and Wild Cats .Other than the Elephants, this park plays homage to several species of Lions previously branded as Man Eaters of Tsavo.

Day 06 :

Tsavo East to Diani

After breakfast, you will leave for Diani on the south coast arriving in Diani Sea Resort for late lunch. Thereafter you can relax and enjoy the lush garden with a large pool, the white sand beach, crystal clear ocean water, a comfortable big room and great food on an all-inclusive basis.

Day 07 & 8 :

Full Day in Diani

Spend the day at leisure with a variety of activities to choose from such as walking on the white beaches, boat rides, scuba diving, water sports activities, Wasini Island Tour or enjoying the daylight by the beachside.

Day 08 :

Diani –Depart

After breakfast, check-out followed by drop off at the Airport before you exit from your Hotel to catch your return flight back to Nairobi to connect your outbound flight.

How fit do I need to be to do this trek?

Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will to, you can.

How long do we walk every day when doing Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs.

What is the highest altitude reached in this trek?

The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.

What about battery charging and hot shower facilities?

Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, hot water facility could be free at lower elevation.

Are there ATMs on the way to Annapurna Base Camp?

No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.

What about internet access?

Yes. Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.

Is it necessary to hire Guides/trekking agency for Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

Not really. It depends on you. If you want, ABC trekking can be done independently. You could hire a guide and a porter by yourself instead of going through an agency or not hire a guide at all. Although, not having a guide can be a little problematic during off season.

It really depends on you. Is it your first time in Nepal? How confident are you of being able to find your way around? How pressed on time are you? If you go through an agency, it will be costlier but everything will be planned. You will only have to come, trek and return.

How much do guides and porters cost?

For Annapurna region, pay for guides range from $20 to $30 per day and porters take $15 to $25 per day.
